Oak Harbor’s AnnaBelle Whitefoot split a pair of matches at the District 1 Singles Tennis Tournament Tuesday, May 17, in Arlington and is still alive to earn a state berth.

Whitefoot, the No. 4 seed from the Wesco North, dropped her first-round match to the South’s No. 1 seed Sasha Gaeth of Shorewood 6-1, 6-1.

Whitefoot came back to defeat Meadowdale’s Bear Lund 6-3, 7-5 and will need to win two straight Wednesday to claim third place and earn a trip to state.
