Two second-half goals by Glacier Peak helped the Grizzlies pull away from stubborn Oak Harbor for a 3-0 win Saturday, Oct. 8, in Snohomish.
Winless Oak Harbor (0-8-2) gave up a goal in the 10th minute then played the Grizzlies (8-2) tough until the home team rifled in two goals within two minutes midway through the second half.
Wildcat coach Jeff Laiblin said his team put in a “very strong performance, our best to date against Glacier Peak.”
He added, “We had several players in different positions due to injuries, but the ladies responded well…I am very proud of the team effort.”
Though the Wildcats were shutout, they “put offensive pressure” on Glacier Peak, Laiblin said, “but were unable to score.”
Oak Harbor hosts Shorecrest (7-2-1) Monday, Oct. 10, at 7 p.m. and Lynnwood (0-8-2) Tuesday, Oct. 11, at 7:30 p.m.
