The Oak Harbor High School sailing team ended the team racing portion of its schedule with a sixth-place in the NWISA Team Race Championships.
The Wildcats struggled out of the gates in the qualifying rounds, failing to qualify for the final table.
Oak Harbor picked up three wins on the weekend, two against North Sound rivals Sehome and one against Lincoln High School.
Starting sailors Thomas Buys, Andrew Buys, Ben Servatius, Liam Chapman, Ryan Metz and EJ Boilek sailed well, but the team couldn’t get traction early in races.
Sailors Anna Servatius, Allison Bailey and Shelby Lang also saw time on the water. Anna Servatius was one of only five freshman at the regatta, and the only skipper.
The Wildcats will continue their season with a North Sound fleet race scrimmage next Saturday in Bellingham.
