The Oak Harbor High School tennis team won 5-2 at Marysville Getchell Thursday, Oct. 2.
The Wildcats nearly swept the Chargers (1-5, 1-9) but fell in close matches in first singles and first doubles. Those two contests were the only matches to go three sets.
Carter Saar (6-0, 6-0), Tom Dale (6-1, 6-2) and Raymond Paraiso (6-1, 6-2) cruised in the second through fourth singles matches.
Jared Hunt and Alexander Smith (6-0, 7-6[5]) and Matthew Hallahan and Calib Byers (6-2, 6-4) were winners in second and third doubles.
After winning the first set 6-0 in first singles, Jackson Wezeman fell 6-3, 6-3.
In first doubles, Kyle Martin and Jared Alano-Gray lost the first set 6-3, reversed the score in the second set, then lost 7-6(2).
Oak Harbor (3-3, 3-5) takes on Arlington (3-3, 3-7) at home at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 7.
