Josh Jepsen and Kevin Levy each won two individual events and two relays to lead the Oak Harbor High School swim team to two wins in a double-dual meet at John Vanderzicht Pool Monday, Jan. 7.
The Wildcats defeated Marysville-Pilchuck 110-64 and Marysville Getchell 119-60. M-P (3-4) beat Getchell (1-6) 97-77.
Jepsen captured the 200-meter individual medley (2:15.87) and the 100 butterfly (1:00.5), while Levy won the 50 free (25.35) and 100 free (58.44). Jepson’s fly time and Levy’s 50 were state-qualifying marks.
The pair, along with Toren Wood and Jake Nelson, finished first in the 200 medley relay (2:01.96) and then joined Wood and Cedric Cabigting to win the 200 free relay (1:48.67).
Wood helped Oak Harbor sweep the relays, taking the 400 free (4:25.01) with Cabigting, Michael Johnson and Joe Gorman.
Gorman added a first in the 200 free (2:22.13), and Johnson won the 100 backstroke (1:09.08).
Coach Alex Theirry said, “I feel like the team did great last night especially with the long break. We had a couple swimmers out sick and still swam some good times in relays.”
Oak Harbor (6-1) goes to Everett’s Forest Park Pool to face Cascade (2-3) at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 10.
