Following a season-long trend, the Oak Harbor tennis team played another match decided by one point, this time losing 4-3 in a non-league contest to visiting Mount Vernon Monday, Sept. 23.

Only one of Oak Harbor’s six matches this season has not been a one-pointer.

The Wildcats (1-2, 2-4) resume conference play at Marysville-Pilchuck (0-2, 0-5) at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 25.

All three of Oak Harbor’s wins against Mount Vernon went the distance.

Casiano Atienza won in third singles 6-3, 4-6, 6-3. In first doubles, Jose Dimaculangan and Jozef Mendoza prevailed 6-2, 4-6, 6-3. Jacob Nelson and Tom Dale squeaked out a 7-6(5), 4-6, 7-6(5) win in second doubles.

Singles: 1, Harrison Miller lost 6-1, 6-0; 2, Carter Saar lost 6-1, 6-1; 4, Jackson Wezeman lost 2-6, 6-3, 6-3.

Doubles: 3, Kyle Martin/Isaac Deleon lost 6-0, 6-4.
