Although the Oak Harbor High School girls basketball team put in one of its best defense nights of the season, the Wildcats fell 38-21 at Everett Friday, Jan. 27.
Poor shooting torpedoed Oak Harbor again as the Wildcats scored less than 30 points for the sixth time this season.
Everett held Oak Harbor to only 4 points in each of the first two quarters and led 10-4 and 16-8.
The Wildcats hit for 7 points in the third quarter but still lost ground, trailing 29-15 going into the fourth period.
Only three players scored for Oak Harbor, led by Bryn Langrock with 9 points. Rahsanna Graham had 7 and Jordan Wood-Pina 5.
Kate Pohland topped the Seagulls (3-7, 4-14) with 18.
The Wildcats (0-10, 3-15) play winless Marysville-Pilchuck (0-9, 0-16) at 7:15 p.m. Friday, Feb. 3, in Oak Harbor.
