The Oak Harbor High School volleyball team picked a thrilling win in the first game but couldn’t keep the momentum and lost 3-1 at Marysville-Pilchuck Thursday, Sept. 10, in a non-league match.
After taking the first set 27-25, Oak Harbor dropped the next three 25-18, 25-20 and 25-19.
“I was happy with how they played,” Oak Harbor coach Kerri Molitor said. “Improvements were made from the last match; (the) passing was much better.”
Claire Anderson topped the Wildcat attack with 12 kills, while Hailey Blau added 10 and Geslyne Barreta eight. Priya Osborne fired two aces, and Janae Payne had 31 assists.
Anderson also led the defense with 26 digs, one more than Osborne.
Oak Harbor (0-2) begins league play at Lynnwood (0-1) at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 17.
