Wildcats get all-conference honors

Ten Oak Harbor High School athletes recently made the 4A Western Conference first and second all-conference teams.

Defender Brian Gliniak and goalie Craig VanderStoep received first-team selections while midfielder Brent Thompson and forwards Kellen Ward and Chris Olson made the second team.Catcher Jay Hartman made baseball’s 4A WesCo North first team, and outfielder Garrett Stone joined infielder David Walton on the second team. The 4A WesCo first team all conference catcher, Hartman was named to the all-state squad after hitting a home run over the centerfield fence in the WesCo all-star game.At Wenatchee, Hartman was bothered by a sore hamstring but started in the outfield and played six innings. He went 0-for-2 with a sacrifice fly. Hartman is planning to attend the Coast Guard Academy, where he will play football this fall.”
