Wildcats grab 8th in 20-team tournament | Boys golf

The Oak Harbor High School boys golf team placed eighth out of 20 teams in the Lee Dolquist Invitational at the Apple Tree Golf Course in Yakima Friday, March 27.

The Oak Harbor High School boys golf team placed eighth out of 20 teams in the Lee Dolquist Invitational at the Apple Tree Golf Course in Yakima Friday, March 27.

West Valley won the tournament with 311 strokes; Oak Harbor finished with 346.

Mason Dieter led the Wildcats by placing 19th out of 95 golfers with an 81. Raiden Poe shot an 83, good for 21st.

Steven Tim finished with a 90, Aaron Kelley a 92 and Ben Fikse a 95.

Holden Backes of Yakima’s Eisenhower High School earned medalist honors with a 72.

Oak Harbor, Marysville Getchell, Mountlake Terrace and Shorewood play at the Whidbey Golf Club at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 31.
