The Wildcats wrapped up the regular season with a 7-1 record, second in the Western Conference 3A division behind Everett, and 15-2 overall.

Up next is the sub-regional tournament, hosted by Oak Harbor, Friday and Saturday, Feb. 3 and 4. Ferndale, Mount Vernon and Sedro-Woolley will join the nine Wesco schools in the meet; five individuals in each weight class will earn berths in the regional tournament.

The match with Marysville Getchell (3-3, 9-7), “on paper,” coach Mike Crebbin said, “should have been closer.”

He added, “The kids are really coming together. We had good matches up and down the weight classes. I am really proud of my kids.”

Oak Harbor received wins from Christian Bertram (106, forfeit), Jahleel Vester (120, fall, 1:21), Cody Fakkema (126, fall, 1:41), Mark Johnston (132, 12-0), Nathanael Stanford (145, fall, 1:10), Joshua Crebbin (152, fall, 4:16), David Payne (160, 13-5), Collin Higingbotham (170, 8-4), Josh Orritt (182, fall, 5:13), Jeremy Alonzo (195, 6-5) and Jacob Dugin (220, fall, 3:22).

Jeremy Vester (113, 5-2), Ryuta Meany (138, fall, 1:18) and Jackson Constant (285, fall, :38) dropped their matches.
