A 7-0 win over visiting Marysville-Pilchuck Friday, April 1, lifted the Oak Harbor High School tennis team into first place of the Wesco North.

A 7-0 win over visiting Marysville-Pilchuck Friday, April 1, lifted the Oak Harbor High School tennis team into first place of the Wesco North.

The Wildcats are 3-0 in conference action (4-5 overall). Next up is a road clash with the only other team unbeaten in North action, Arlington (2-0, 6-1), at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 13.

Oak Harbor cruised through the singles matches against Marysville-Pilchuck (1-2, 1-6): 1, AnnaBelle Whitefoot won 6-0, 6-1; 2, Tamia Rios won 6-3, 6-0; 3, Elma Marie Empinado won 6-4, 6-1; and Chante Powell won 6-0, 6-0.

The Wildcats came from behind to win first and second doubles, getting victories from Emma Lerch/Peyton Carlson (5-7, 6-1, 6-2) and Aelizah Espiritu/Emily Brown (3-6, 6-3, 6-3).

Brianne DeGuzman and Ria Bains won third doubles 6-3, 6-2.
