The Oak Harbor High School baseball team picked up some momentum for the playoffs with a 4-2 win at Meadowdale in the regular-season finale Tuesday, April 30.

The Oak Harbor High School baseball team picked up some momentum for the playoffs with a 4-2 win at Meadowdale in the regular-season finale Tuesday, April 30.

The third-seeded Wildcats (10-7, 11-9) go to Snohomish to face second-seed Glacier Peak (13-4, 15-5) in the first round of the eight-team, double-elimination district at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 4.

The Oak Harbor/Glacier Peak winner and loser will face their counterparts from the first-seeded Marysville-Pilchuck (14-3, 16-4) and fourth-seeded Meadowdale (8-0, 9-11) game at 4 p.m. Tuesday, May 7.

The winners meet at Shoreline’s Meridian Park Fields. The losers meet at the home of the higher seed.

In the other half of the bracket, Shorewood (No. 1, 15-2, 18-2) plays Stanwood (No. 4, 7-10, 7-13) and Ferndale (No. 2, 9-3, 13-7) faces Mountlake Terrace (No. 3, 10-7, 12-8).

In Oak Harbor’s win over Meadowdale, Danny Wolfe and reliever Andrew Snavely, who entered in the sixth, combined for a four hitter.

Grant Schroeder led the offense with three hits, including a double and two RBI. Wolfe also had two hits.

Meadowdale was coming off two upset wins over the state’s top-ranked 3A team, Shorewood.
