The Oak Harbor High School tennis season came to an end at the District 1 tournament Monday, Oct. 22, at Arlington High School.
Both Oak Harbor entrants lost their first two matches and were eliminated.
In singles, Nick Krantz, the North’s No. 4 seed, lost to the South’s top seed, Will Molinaro of Edmonds-Woodway, 6-0, 6-0, and to the South’s No. 3 seed, Thomas Syknnott of Squalicum, 6-1, 6-2.
In doubles, Ezra and Micah Franklin, the North’s No. 3 seed, were edged by the South’s No. 2 duo, Andrew Counter and Steven Lin of Shorewood, 6-2, 4-6, 7-6(3) in the first round. They then fell to the South’s No. 4 team, Bennett Vana and Ari Webb of Shorewood, 6-3, 6-0.
