The Coupeville High School soccer team lost to Cedarcrest and Mother Nature 2-1 Tuesday, March 25, at Mickey Clark Field.
“It was a close game on a weather-affected night,” said coach Kyle Nelson. Both teams took advantage of a stiff wind and scored when the wind was at their backs.
The Wolves tallied in the first half when Zane Bundy scored off an assist from Abraham Leyva Elenes.
In the second half, it was Cedarcrest’s turn with the favorable wind, and the Red Wolves (1-0, 2-1) scored twice in the final 15 minutes to collect the conference victory.
Coupeville (1-0, 1-1) entertains South Whidbey (1-0, 3-0) at 6 p.m. Friday, March 28.
