The Friday Harbor High School boys basketball team eked by visiting Coupeville 43-38 Wednesday, Dec. 11.
Dylan Roberson scored 7 points and his teammates added seven free throws in the final period to secure the non-league win for the Wolverines (2-2).
Behind 4 points each from Sean Toomey-Stout and Koa Davison, Coupeville overcame 7 from Friday Harbor’s Ethan Germain to go up 8-7 at the end of the first period.
Roberson tallied 8 points in the second quarter to help Friday Harbor lead 20-18 at the break.
Mason Grove buried a pair of three-pointers for Coupeville in the third period, but Friday Harbor, with 6 points from Ty Anderson, added a point to their lead, 29-26, going into the fourth quarter.
Jered Brown scored 7 points and Hawthorne Wolfe 5 in the final period, but it wasn’t enough to overtake the Wolverines.
Wolfe scored 9 points in the game to pace Coupeville. Grove had 8, Brown 7, Toomey-Stout 6, Davison 4, Ulrik Wells 2 and Gavin Knoblich 2.
Roberson finished with 15 for Friday Harbor.
Concrete (0-2) comes to Coupeville (1-3) for a 7 p.m. game Friday, Dec. 13.
