The Coupeville High School soccer team went on a scoring spree in Chimacum Thursday, April 21, blasting the Cowboys 10-1.
Abraham Leyva Elenes continued his quest of scoring in every match this season, blitzing Chimacum (0-2, 1-8) with three goals. Zane Bundy chipped in with two, and William Nelson, Ethan Spark and Andre Avila also scored. The Cowboys helped out with two own goals.
Bundy recorded four assists, Nelson had two, and Leyva Elenes, Avila and Cody Menges one each.
“(It) was a good win for us and gave us a chance to play a number of JV players in a varsity game, since there was no JV game,” coach Kyle Nelson said. “Great experience for our younger players, who stepped in and did a great job.”
Coupeville (1-1, 4-5-1) hosts first-place Klahowya (2-0, 9-1-1) at 5 p.m. Tuesday, April 26.
