Clinching second place in the Olympic League along the way, the Coupeville High School soccer team won 11-1 at Chimacum Friday, April 27.
The Wolves (5-3, 6-6-2) finish the regular season with a 5 p.m. home match with league champion Klahowya (7-0, 11-2-1) Monday, April 30.
Win or lose, Coupeville will move on the district playoffs as the conference’s No. 2 seed and play Bellevue Christian (9-4) in a loser-out match at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 5, at Oak Harbor’s Wildcat Memorial Stadium.
The winner goes to the four-team, double elimination portion of the tournament and plays Vashon Island, the Nisqually League champion, at 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 8, at Tahoma High School. The tournament continues May 10 and 12 at Orting High School.
The top two finishers in the district playoffs qualify for the state tournament.
Coupeville 11, Chimacum 1
William Nelson scored four goals, brothers Hunter and Sage Downes three each and Aram Leyva one as the Wolves kept the Cowboys (0-7, 0-11) winless this season.
Chimacum as allowed at least seven goals in each of its matches this year and has been outscored 125-3.
With the 11 goals, Coupeville raised its season total to 58, a school record.
