The Coupeville High School tennis team dropped a 5-2 match at South Whidbey Thursday, April 14.

“We performed much better than we did the last time we played South Whidbey,” coach Ken Stange said. “Picking up a couple of wins was good. More importantly, we were competitive in most of the matches.”

Coupeville lost to South Whidbey 7-0 March 30.

In the latest match with the Falcons, the Wolves earned wins in second singles from Sydney Autio (6-2, 6-4) and from the second doubles duo of McKenzie Bailey and Jazmine Franklin (6-4, 7-5).

The Wolves (0-4) open defense of their conference title when they host Chimacum/Port Townsend (3-5) at 4 p.m. Friday, April 15.
