Coupeville High School eased into the 2019 soccer season with a one-sided win over visiting Chimacum Saturday, March 9.
Behind a hat trick by Aram Leyva, the Wolves thumped Chimacum 8-0.
“The game went well,” Coupeville coach Kyle Nelson said. “(It was) a good way to open the season.”
Sage Downes tallied twice, and Chris Cernick, Tony Garcia and Derek Leyva all added goals.
The Wolves continue a busy week that includes four matches in eight days when they host Mount Baker at 5 p.m. Monday, March 11.
