Two North Whidbey Little League teams will ignite the postseason for local squads when they start playoff action at 6 p.m. Monday, June 27, in Oak Harbor.
Other teams representing North and Central Whidbey Little Leagues begin district play on July 5, 8 and 9.
The Oak Harbor Babe Ruth (13/14) baseball team starts its district tournament Wednesday, June 29.
The North Whidbey Major League (11/12) softball team, which also includes several players from Central Whidbey, and the North Whidbey Junior (13/14) baseball team each begin a best-of-three series Monday to determine the District 11 champion.
The softball team hosts Sedro-Woolley at 6 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at Volunteer Park. A third game, if necessary, is set for 6 p.m. Wednesday.
The junior baseball team will follow an identical schedule against Anacortes at Fort Nugent Park.
The Oak Harbor Babe Ruth team will take part in a round-robin tournament with Sedro-Woolley and Friday Harbor at Burlington’s Rotary Fields to determine which two advance to the state tournament. Oak Harbor meets Sedro-Woolley at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday and Friday Harbor at 4 p.m. Thursday.
The North Whidbey 10/11 baseball team faces Sedro-Woolley at 6 p.m. Tuesday, July 5, in its district opener at Coupeville’s Rhododendron Park. Anacortes will also be taking part in the double-elimination tournament.
The Central Whidbey 9/10 softball team meets Sedro-Woolley at 6 p.m. Tuesday, July 5, at Oak Harbor’s Volunteer Fields in the first of the best-of-three series for the district title.
The North Whidbey 9/10 baseball team takes on host South Whidbey at 6 p.m. Friday, July 8, in its first game of the five-team, double-elimination tournament.
The four-team, double-elimination Major League (11/12) baseball tournament begins Saturday, July 9, at Sedro-Woolley’s Tesarik Field.
North Whidbey faces Anacortes at 11 a.m. and a combined South Whidbey/Central Whidbey team takes on Sedro-Woolley at 2:30 p.m.
